Orange County Aikido School, also called Orange County Aiki Kai (OCAK) was founded in 1964 by Harry Ishisaka. Today the school is unique in that it is a non-profit educational corporation whose instructors impart their knowledge on a purely voluntary basis. We are located in the City of Santa Ana and provide instruction in the martial art of Aikido to men and women, old and young, seven days a week. Our instructors offer a wide range of learning opportunities from Fundamentals, to Advanced including weapons and randori instruction. Zen meditation is offered on Sunday mornings. OCAK is affiliated with Aikido Hawaii International (AHI) under the instruction of Sensei Robert Kubo.
Our dojo is a non profit California Corporation. It’s Board of Directors manages the affairs and business of the dojo.
Our mission is to teach and promote the principles of aikido and to increase public understanding of aikido as taught by our dojo founder Harry K. Ishisaka.
- Each board member serves a 2 year term and is elected at our annual business meeting to represent the entire membership.
- Our Chief Instructor is a permanent board member.
- Our current board members come from diverse backgrounds and occupations.
